Is there a sweet girl aged preschool through 7th grade in your life? Have you heard of the Introduce a Girl to Engineering Event hosted by St. Ambrose University? It’s coming up on February 22nd! We took our daughter last year and it was so much fun. We all learned from it and it was a great opportunity for some quality time. Between making a bouncy ball from scratch and learning how wind can be harnessed and used for energy, experimenting with gum drops and toothpicks to build stable (or unstable in our case) bridges and so much more- all tailored to each age group, it was a blast! I strongly encourage you to check it out.

Did you know there’s a website dedicated to trails in the Quad Cities? I didn’t. You can customize your search by: activity- walking, hiking, running, bicycling, mountain biking, road biking, snowshoeing, skiing, horseback riding and paddling; difficulty range- easy, difficult, moderate and strenuous; type of adventure- family friendly, nature trails/ interpretive walks and away from it all; location- county or city; and keywords. It also allows you to log your activity and will award you badges for your accomplishments. And if you’re looking to join a like-minded wayfarers group, there are links to various options. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for this fickle weather to lift so I can utilize this excellent resource. Follow the link below and go adventuring!
